Meet Neena Gupta and Sunita Rajwar, the actresses behind Manju Devi and Kranti Devi in the highly anticipated web series ‘Panchayat Season 4’. The trailer has already created a buzz, showcasing a fierce election battle in the village of Phulera. We caught up with these talented actresses to talk about their roles, real-life politics, and what they’d do if they were in charge for a day.
Neena Gupta shared a surprising experience about voting. “I went to vote in Juhu, but the party’s symbol had changed. I didn’t realize it and ended up voting for someone else.” She emphasized the need for clearer campaigns and highlighted the challenges of navigating complex voting systems.
Sunita Rajwar echoed Neena’s sentiments, admitting she doesn’t understand politics. “When I listen to one politician, they sound right. But then I listen to another, and they also sound convincing. It’s confusing, and I don’t know who to trust.” She expressed her frustration with the politics, calling it “dirty” and something she’d rather avoid.
Despite their reservations about politics, we asked them what they’d change if they were in power for a day. Neena focused on employment, stating, “If we want to bring real change, we need to focus on employment. When young people have jobs, they become self-sufficient, earn a living, and contribute to society. Crime will decrease, and the country will improve.”
Sunita, on the other hand, emphasized the need to improve living conditions in rural areas. “Villages lack hospitals, schools, and sanitation. People move to cities, and sometimes they don’t even make it. We need to change this mindset and provide basic amenities to every village.” She’d prioritize making medical and educational facilities accessible to all.
‘Panchayat Season 4’ is set to release on June 24th on Amazon Prime Video, promising an engaging storyline and stellar performances from the cast. Will Manju Devi and Kranti Devi’s election battle inspire real-life changes? Only time will tell.
