The famous actress has found her happy place, not on a film set, but in a sprawling garden. It’s nestled on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. This green paradise is more than just a pretty space; it’s her personal retreat.
Anderson actually bought this dream property from her grandparents three decades ago. She decided to give the place a big refresh. After years of living the fast-paced life in Los Angeles, she chose to come back home. This return to the "Great White North" allowed the Naked Gun star to let her gardening skills truly shine.
She recently shared what sparked her love for digging in the dirt. "It all started when I realized you could eat blackberries right off a bush or a wild apple from a tree," Anderson told Architectural Digest in June 2025. "It was one of those ‘aha’ moments. You understand food comes from the earth, from the soil. And I thought, ‘Oh, I can have my own garden.’"
When the world slowed down at the start of the pandemic, Anderson saw a fresh chance. "When I came home to start fresh, I immediately thought, ‘I’m going to make an amazing garden,’" she explained. She sees the garden as a symbol for life itself. "The garden is a metaphor. You can replant each year, rotate your crops. I started learning a lot about it. I thought, ‘This is how I want my life to be.’"
Her passion for gardening isn’t a solo journey. Anderson has shared glimpses of her vibrant garden on Instagram. She also mentioned that it’s become a fun family activity. Her sons, Brandon and Dylan Lee, often lend a hand. "I’ve had it every way possible. It was smaller; I made it bigger," she said. "We had to put up a deer fence. So my sons got involved. We designed this huge garden. It ended up being much bigger than I thought!" The bounty from their hard work doesn’t just feed the family. They share the extra produce with local food banks, soup kitchens, churches, neighbors, and friends.
