Washington: US Senator Chris Van Hollen has said that Pakistan’s role in the current situation in Afghanistan is very important, top US officials have full contact with their Pakistani counterpart.

According to details, US Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen while addressing the ceremony said that Pakistan is a very important country, Pakistan’s role in the current situation in Afghanistan is very important.

The senator said it was important for President Biden to contact the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Biden has spoken to the administration, including the Secretary of State, and others, emphasizing the need for direct contact between the two leaders.

He said senior cabinet officials had assured him that there was no impediment to direct communication and that senior US officials had full contact with their Pakistani counterparts.

The US senator said that the international community needs to put pressure on the Taliban, the Taliban should respect the rights of women and the minority community. The Taliban represent every school of thought and group in the Afghan government. The Taliban must ensure that Afghan soil is not used for terrorism like 9/11.

He added that Pakistan and Afghanistan were working on a proposed bill for a duty-free trade zone.
