Astonishing violence shattered the life of Sana Yousaf, a 17-year-old TikTok star in Pakistan. Omar Hayat, a 22-year-old man, stormed into her home, shooting her twice after she rejected his repeated requests to be friends. The brutal murder sent shockwaves across the nation.
Omar’s twisted obsession with Sana began when he tried to befriend her, but she consistently turned him down. Her refusal to engage with him ultimately led to her tragic demise. On the day of the murder, Omar waited outside Sana’s home for hours before bursting in and shooting her at point-blank range.
Sana’s mother reported the horrific incident, stating that Omar entered their home around 2 pm, armed with a pistol, and shot Sana twice in the chest. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Sana’s life could not be saved.
As a social media influencer, Sana had gained thousands of followers across multiple platforms. Her Instagram account boasted over 500,000 followers, while her TikTok account had amassed over 1 million followers. Just a week before her murder, Sana posted a heartwarming video on Instagram, surrounded by a sea of balloons, as she celebrated her birthday by cutting a cake.
Sana’s father, Syed Yousaf Hassan, described his daughter as brave and fearless. He revealed that Sana never mentioned Omar or any threats she might have received before her untimely death. The aunt, who was present at the scene, was also threatened by Omar before he fled.
The Pakistani police faced immense pressure to apprehend the culprit, leading to a massive manhunt. They scoured multiple locations in Islamabad and Punjab, reviewing footage from 113 CCTV cameras. Omar was eventually arrested in Faisalabad, approximately 320 kilometers from Islamabad, just 20 hours after the murder. The police recovered the murder weapon and Sana’s stolen phone from Omar.
