  • Ahmed Shehzad out of 2017 ODI and Tests and 2019 T20
  • Shahzad has played 13 Tests, 81 ODIs and 59 T20 Internationals for Pakistan.
  • Shahzad targeted former cricketers from his own country

Do you remember Ahmed Shahzad, the Pakistani cricketer? His look was always linked to that of the former captain of India Virat Kohli. He was also often told that he resembled Kohli. But no one had thought about the way his career was stopped. Now speaking with Cricket Pakistan, he has made accusations against the Cricket Board (PCB) of his own country. He also mentioned Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni in this conversation.

Let us tell you that Shahzad was dropped from the Pakistani cricket team in 2016. He categorically stated that his career was greatly affected by a report made by the then coach Waqar Younis. In that report it was said that Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal will have to play domestic cricket to improve their game. Saying this, he was eliminated from the team. Now, after about 6 years, he has given a statement about it.

Take aim at your own cricket board

Mohammad Shahzad, while speaking to Cricket Pakistan, said that “I myself have not seen the report, but I was told by a PCB official that these comments were made about me. But I think these things need to be discussed face to face and I am ready to take on that challenge. Then we will see who is right and who is not.” He also said that his career was damaged by that comment and he was not given a chance to speak.

Kohli and Dhoni also mentioned

Shahzad further referred to Indian cricket. On MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, he said, “I have said this before and I will say it again. Kohli’s career progressed because he had MS Dhoni, but unfortunately here in Pakistan, his people cannot tolerate his success. Find him.” Our veteran and former cricketers can’t stomach seeing someone succeed in the world of cricket. This is unfortunate for Pakistani cricket.
