Pakistani Cricketer Accuses Pakistan of Backing Pahalgam Terror Attack, Praises PM Modi

Danish Kaneria, a former Pakistan spin bowler, has accused Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of harboring terrorists. He praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his strong stance against terrorism.

A Call to Action

Kaneria, 44, took to social media to express his concerns about Sharif’s silence on a recent terrorist attack in Kashmir. The attack, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists, has been linked to a Pakistan-based group, The Resistance Front (TRF), associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

  • Pakistan’s Foreign Office expressed concern over the loss of life.
  • Sharif hasn’t personally commented on the incident.

Kaneria questioned Sharif’s inaction, suggesting it implies Pakistan’s involvement. He pointed out that the country’s military is on high alert, indicating they know the truth – that they are supporting terrorists.

Global Condemnation

Modi vowed to identify, find, and punish terrorists and their supporters. He promised to pursue them relentlessly. Kaneria praised Modi for speaking out against terrorism in English, ensuring a global audience understood his message.

Kaneria’s comments come as a surprise given his past controversies, including a ban for spot-fixing in English county cricket.

A Turning Point?

Kaneria hopes Modi’s strong stance will mark the beginning of the end of terrorism in South Asia, much like the impact in Gaza.
