Pakistan cricket team’s new Test captain Shan Masood will now play for the Karachi Kings team in the next season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The Pakistan team is currently on a tour of Australia where he has to lead the team in a three-match Test series starting December 14. Shan Masood was part of the Multan Sultans team in the last PSL season. Karachi Kings won the title in the PSL season in 2020.

Masood was added to his team before the draft

The player draft for the 2024 Pakistan Super League season will take place on December 13. Earlier, Karachi Kings had made Shan Masood a part of their team through a trade deal with Multan Sultans and Faizal Akram joined the Multan team. Shan Masood captained the Multan Sultans team in the PSL season in 2020, while Masood was also part of this team when the franchise won the title in the 2021 season. The Karachi Kings have made several big changes to their team ahead of the player draft in which they terminated Imad Wasim’s contract. It is seen that Masood will also take the responsibility of leading the team as captain next season. Shan Masood has so far scored 1318 runs in 42 matches in the Pakistan Super League.

Shaan Masood had a great start to the Australian tour

Shan Masood, who came to Australia for the first time as a Test captain to play a Test series, is off to a great start with the bat. In the four-day practice match against the Prime Minister XI team, Shaan performed amazingly with his bat and played an unbeaten innings of 201 runs. On this basis, the Pakistan team managed to declare their first innings with a score of 391. Shan Masood has so far played 30 matches for Pakistan in the Test format, scoring 1597 runs at an average of 28.52, which also includes four centuries innings.
