Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf on the verge of retiring from international cricket?

Pakistan's star fast bowler Haris Rauf is considering retiring from international cricket. Big news about Haris Rauf has emerged from media reports. Pakistan recently played a three-match Test series against Australia from which Haris Rauf withdrew his name and later played in the Big Bash League. After withdrawing his name from the Test series, Rauf had to face a lot of criticism following which news of his retirement grew.

Not taking part in the test series against Australia could now prove dangerous for Rauf. Pakistan director Mohammad Hafeez and chief selector Wahab Riaz had reprimanded him for withdrawing his name from the Test series. Now media reports are claiming that the Pakistan pacer may soon bid farewell to international cricket. Rauf was told by the team management to focus more on playing in the national team instead of the T20 leagues.

According to Pakistani media reports, Haris was very disappointed by the criticism and had at one point decided to quit international cricket, but decided against it after advice from friends and family. However, no official information about these things has been released yet.

Haris is wary of playing Test cricket. He has played only one Test in his career where he got injured after 13 overs. He was not seen in Test cricket after that. Former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur also advised Haris to play the Test against Australia but the pacer did not listen to his advice and did not agree to take part in the Test.

It is noteworthy that Haris has played 1 Test, 37 ODI and 64 T20 International matches in his career so far. The only Test Haris took 1 wicket. Apart from this, while bowling, he has taken 69 wickets in 37 ODI innings at an average of 26.40. While bowling in 62 innings of T20 International, the Pakistan pacer has taken 88 wickets at an average of 21.29.
