Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif says his country will target only military sites in India.
He told Geo News that Pakistan will follow international law and keep the conflict under control.
Asif’s statement came after India launched air strikes on Pakistan early Wednesday.
India claimed it was responding to a Kashmiri attack last month that killed 26 tourists.
Pakistan says 31 people died and 57 were injured in the Indian strikes.
India says Pakistan fired artillery across the Kashmir border, killing 15 people and injuring dozens.
Tensions Rise
Pakistan’s National Security Committee warned that they have the right to respond to India at a time and place of their choosing.
Several Pakistani officials said they would retaliate against India.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed to avenge the dead.
Asif told CNN that Pakistan is trying to avoid full-scale war.
But they’re preparing for the possibility as India escalates the conflict.
The situation remains volatile as both sides exchange blame and threats.
