Pakistan Cricket: Who Will Become Pakistan’s Head Coach? The PCB Chairman is waiting for this person’s response.

After the upheavals in Pakistani cricket last month, the search for a new head coach is underway. Mickey Arthur leads the race for this position. Mickey Arthur has been the coach of the Pakistan team before. PCB Chairman Najam Sethi once again wants to hand over the reins of the Pakistan team to him. However, so far no clear answer has come from Mickey Arthur.

A PCB source told PTI: ‘Mickey Arthur is currently on a long-term contract with Derbyshire County. PCB has spoken with him and has also given him time to consider this new opportunity. Arthur has said that he will be able to give a clear answer on this matter by the end of this month. The source says that Arthur is also interested in returning as Pakistan coach, but at the moment he wants some time before making a decision.

Mickey Arthur was the head coach of Pakistan between 2016 and 2019. Later, Najam Sethi was also the president of PCB. Mickey Arthur was released from the post only after the removal of Najam Sethi. Now that Najam Sethi has returned as PCB president, he has once again looked to Mickey Arthur as head coach.

New Zealand’s tour of Pakistan ends on January 14. After this, the Pakistani team will not play any international matches until April. This is because the Pakistan Super League will be organized in February-March. In such a situation, Pakistan is in no hurry to choose a head coach. In April, the Pakistani team will return to international cricket by hosting 5 ODIs against New Zealand.
