PAK v WI: Even Gayle and Virat couldn’t do what Rizwan did, the first hitter to do it
Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan has become the world’s first male hitter to score 2,000 runs in a calendar year. He accomplished the feat in the eleventh second while chasing the target during the third and final T20I match against the West Indies in Karachi. In this match, Pakistan won by seven wickets.
Chasing a 208-run goal, Pakistan won the game by losing three wickets in 18.5 overs as Rizwan played a stormy inning of 87 runs on 45 balls. Rizwan hit 10 fours and three sixes in his innings.
Rizwan’s first teammate, Babar Azam, also performed brilliantly, scoring 79 runs on 53 balls. He also hit nine fours and two sixes. Babar and Rizwan shared a 158-race partnership for the first wicket. In this way, Pakistan made a clean sweep of the West Indies 3-0 in the 3-game T20I series.
Previously, the West Indies had scored 207 runs for three wickets. For him, captain Nicholas Pooran scored 64 runs on 37 balls with the help of two fours and six sixes. Aside from him, Shmarth Brooks contributed 49, Brendan King contributed 43 and Darren Bravo contributed 34, not out.
