Padres defeat Giants with a great rally, Machado and Soto contribute

Brandon Drury hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the sixth inning and Austin Nola added a two-run homer to cap a seven-run rally, all with two outs, leading the San Diego Padres to a 13-7 victory over the San Francisco Giants.

The Padres trailed 4-0 but took a 6-4 lead after Manny Machado’s double sparked a six-run rally in the third. Then they fell behind again 7-6 in the sixth.

But San Diego reacted with another big attack in the bottom of the sixth.

Drury hit a 1-2 line drive off Yunior Marte (0-1) into the left-field seats with two out to make it 9-7. Machado and Josh Bell were on board with singles.
