Padres beat Arizona with home runs by Soto, Dahl and Kim

Pinch-hitter David Dahl and Ha-Seong Kim led off the bottom of the ninth inning with back-to-back home runs as the San Diego Padres beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 on Monday night.

The Diamondbacks took a 4-3 lead on Evan Longoria’s homer in the top of the fourth, two after rookie Corbin Carroll tied the game with a home run to right in the first.

With Scott McGough (0-1) on the mound taking the loss, the Padres rallied behind Dahl’s leadoff homer and Kim’s first drive in the final inning of a game in the majors.

Tim Hill (1-0) got the win after getting the final two outs in the ninth.

Juan Soto hit his first home run of the season for the Padres, who won their third win of the season.

For the Diamondbacks, the Dominican Ketel Marte 4-1. The Cuban Lourdes Gurriel of 4-1. The Venezuelan Gabriel Moreno 4-0.

For the Padres, the Dominican Juan Soto 2-1, with a run scored and two RBIs. Venezuelan Rougned Odor 3-1, with a run scored.
