Bayern Munich Announces Departure of Coach, Pablo Laso Returns to Baskonia

Bayern Munich had previously announced the departure of the Basque coach before the official announcement of Pablo Laso’s arrival at Baskonia. The Bavarian entity stated that “family reasons” were the primary cause of the Spaniard’s departure from the club.

Despite having a contract until 2026, Laso has returned to his home and spent 11 seasons as a player. Before leaving, he said goodbye to the fans of the German club with a statement on social media.

For the Entire FC Bayern Munich Family

You have made me feel at home.

My first experience outside of Spain has been incredible, thanks to you.

We have been able to achieve great goals, but your support has been what has really pushed us.

I have no words to describe how you have made me and my family feel.

Munich will always be in our hearts.

Thank you.

In his only season in Germany, he achieved a double that is now history at Bayern Munich, leaving his mark on the German club. His departure came as a surprise, with Marko Pesic, general manager of FCBB, acknowledging that “Pablo Laso’s personal decision was unexpected for us, but we respect him a lot as a coach and as a person.”

Now back at home, Pablo Laso joins a team that has just had one of the worst seasons in memory, with the aim of resuming recent successes.
