The money laundering prosecutor, Enrique Rodríguez, has requested a border closure for several individuals, including Pablo Carrasco, his wife, and the wife of the deceased Gustavo Basso, in connection with the Livestock connection situation. This move is part of a broader investigation into allegations of fraud and improper appropriation.
Lawyer Ignacio Durán, who has been involved in the case, presented evidence to the Prosecutor’s Office, highlighting the need for justice to be served. Durán noted that the prosecutor has received over 20 complaints and is dealing with approximately 4,500 victims. He emphasized the importance of assigning additional personnel and resources to the Prosecutor’s Office to help advance the investigation, given the vast amount of information and the complexity of the case.
Scale of the Complaint
According to Durán, the complaint is the largest in the Judiciary, with an estimated $250 million involved. He stressed that the figure is unprecedented and underscores the severity of the situation. The victims are seeking to recover their assets and have filed complaints at the criminal level.
The primary goal of the victims is to recover part of their heritage and savings, which in many cases represent a lifetime of investments. Durán expressed that the ideal outcome would be for the victims to regain some of their lost assets, which were invested with the trust that the investment group would manage them properly. The investigation is ongoing, and the prosecution’s efforts are focused on bringing those responsible to justice and providing relief to the affected parties.
