Ovarense Beats Oliveirense, Ties Quarterfinals Series with Thrilling 92-77 Victory

The Ovarense Aerosoles handed Oliveirense a 92-77 drubbing in Game 2 of their Liga Betclic playoff quarterfinal series, evening the best-of-three matchup at one game apiece. The Aerosoles’ convincing victory came after they trailed 4-2 early on, but surged to a 34-12 lead by the end of the first quarter.

A dominant first half

Ovarense’s dominance began in the first quarter, where they outscored Oliveirense 34-12. Gustavo Teixeira led the charge with 23 points, including 3/7 three-pointers, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Aerosoles’ strong three-point shooting continued into the second quarter, with the team making 10/17 threes to take a 48-30 halftime lead.

Rodrigo Soeiro was the Aerosoles’ top scorer in the first half, netting 19 points by halftime, including 5/7 three-pointers. His performance set the tone for the rest of the team, who went on to make 13/27 threes for the game.

Oliveirense’s struggles

Oliveirense, on the other hand, struggled with their three-point shooting, managing just 5/27 (18%). Despite this, Danjel Purifoy and Deontae Hawkins led the team in scoring with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Purifoy added 2 rebounds and 3 assists, while Hawkins grabbed 10 rebounds.
