Oscar Piastri is on fire. Five wins into the Formula 1 season and he’s widening the gap at the top. The Australian now has 186 points, a significant lead in the championship.
His teammate, Lando Norris, is hot on his heels. Norris took second place at the Spanish Grand Prix, closing the gap to just 10 points. But he’s got his work cut out for him – Piastri is pulling away.
The current world champion, Max Verstappen, had a tough time in Barcelona. A penalty left him in tenth place, and he’s now trailing Piastri by 49 points. That’s a significant deficit, but Verstappen’s not one to give up easily.
