Orlando Bloom celebrates 45 years of life and two decades in the cinema after fighting against dyslexia

As a child, Orlando Bloom suffered from dyslexia (when the person confuses the order of letters or words). In order to overcome his condition, his mother, who from a very young age instilled in him a love for the world of the arts, recommended that he do theater.

In 1993 he moved to London to study for two years in drama, photography and sculpture at Fine Arts College.

In this way he began the first steps that years later would be the shoe for a long career of more than 33 films under his belt in the last 21 years and that, this January 13, when the British star turns 45 years old, there is much left to be seen of his talent.

Versatile and attractive Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Bloom was born in Kent, England, on a day like today, January 13, but in 1977.

It is in the year 2001 when his great opportunity arrives and is chosen to play “Légolas” in the successful film trilogy The Lord of the Rings.

Since then, Bloom has become one of Hollywood’s promises and continued to climb the ladder thanks to her participation in the first three films of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” saga: “The Curse of the Black Pearl” (2003), “The Chest of the dead man ”(2006) and“ At the end of the world ”(2007).

Like Johnny Depp, the charismatic captain “Jack Sparrow”, Bloom plays in this popular series one of the main characters, Will Turner, in love with the governor’s daughter, Elizabeth Swann, a role played by Keira Knightle.

“My whole career has been fulfilling my childhood fantasies,” she once said during an interview.

The actor has said in multiple public interventions that since childhood he dreamed of playing fantastic, superhero and action roles, and he has fulfilled it.

The long list of films in which he has participated have fantasy as a common ingredient in their stories.

Despite being known in much of the world, fame is not a subject that Bloom enjoys. He has always preferred to maintain his privacy, although he acknowledges that it is not an easy task due to the exposure of his work.

“I studied drama school for three years to be an actor, not a celebrity,” he said. Bloom is a follower of the Buddhist religion. He has professed himself a fervent defender of the environment. Thanks to his many altruistic actions, on October 12, 2009, he was appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

He still keeps going constantly to refugee camps and traveling around the world to raise awareness about humanitarian aid. The actor is a vegetarian, his favorite color is yellow and he considers himself an admirer of photography and sculpture.

One of his passions are extreme sports and adrenaline. While practicing one of these activities, at age 21 he had a serious back accident after falling three stories from a window.

The doctors who treated him thought that he would never walk again, but thanks to intense rehabilitation, and a considerable amount of will, Orlando managed to get to his feet.

Proof of this traumatic experience, the actor retains a large scar across his back, and since then he has carried many charms and pendants with him.
