Oriola, against Barça: “They could have saved the meeting”

Pierre Oriola has left Barcelona this summer and not through the front door. He had been away since July and it was not until the end of September that he formally said goodbye to the team of which he was captain and with whom he has had to negotiate a separation that has extended over time. Everything indicates that he will soon join the ranks of Marc Gasol’s Bàsquet Girona, already recovered from an injury that has delayed his signing. Now the power forward, world champion with Spain in 2019, speaks clearly about his final in the Barça team.

Oriola, formerly of Manresa, Sevilla and Valencia Basket for which Barça paid a clause of one million euros, has gone through the podcast the cassock and there you have declared the following about your output:

“It’s a club decision. You have to accept when you are not part of a club’s plans. But I am disappointed because I think I could have contributed more.”

“He was the captain and they have not made a single statement. I met with Mario Bruno Fernández and Juan Carlos Navarro to analyze my performance during the year. In the last five minutes was when they told me that I would not continue the next course. They could have saved the meeting.”

“Coach Jasikevicius didn’t say anything to me. He only called me two months after I was kicked out to ask if he was mad. He wasn’t anymore.”
