Oriol Romeu's decision: He is not moving from FC Barcelona

Amid speculation and interest from Besiktas, Oriol Romeu has made it clear, despite his lack of minutes on the pitch, that he has no intention of leaving Barcelona during this winter market. Despite having been largely on the bench since the start of November 2023, the youth player, who initially had a prominent role in Busquets' position, is not currently considering leaving the club.

Current information circulating in Turkey suggests Besiktas may be interested in acquiring the midfielder's services. However, Romeu has noted that he would only consider an “irrefutable” offer that convinces both Barcelona and himself. The player's position is supported by coach Xavi, who has no intention of letting Romeu leave, especially given the small size of the squad. Furthermore, the player's departure would not pose any salary cap issues unless the offer is in the millions, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

Oriol Romeu's decision: He is not moving from FC Barcelona

Despite making a promising start after arriving from Girona in August for €3.5 million, Romeu has seen his attendance decline in recent games. Having only started once in the last ten LaLiga games and not playing in six of them, the midfielder remains determined to finish the current season and is waiting for his chance in the team.

Gündogan's dominant presence in Barcelona's midfield, covering more than 90% of games this season, has limited opportunities for Romeu. Despite the circumstances, the player is confident that the situation will change and is determined to wait for the right time, with Girona also showing interest in adding him to their ranks.
