Violent protests intensified in the Indian state of Manipur. Curfew was imposed in 8 districts and army was called. Modi government ordered to shoot the protestors.
According to foreign media, riots continue in the Indian state of Manipur after the government crackdown. Several churches and dozens of houses were set on fire.
The police was completely unable to stop the riots by the tribal and non-tribal population. Internet services were suspended for five days and gatherings were banned in the state by calling the army.
The non-tribal communities of the state are demanding that they be given tribal status so that their lands. Culture and identity can get legal protection.
On the other hand, the Modi government is doing atrocities to suppress their freedom.
