THE ColorOS 12 based on operating system Android 12 gives Google it’s official! The Chinese manufacturer recently unveiled the novelties of its user interface that will reach not only a wide range of smartphones OPPO, but also to OnePlus smartphones that are used in China.
The best of all? The system update will begin to be distributed next October in its country of origin. Among the novelties are several productivity features, as well as the OMOJI, OPPO’s adaptation to the Memoji introduced by Apple, among other novelties that will arrive in Europe in the coming months.
There are several new features in ColorOS 12 for OPPO smartphones
A few days after the official availability of Android 12 by Google, somewhat delayed this year, OPPO went ahead and unveiled its skin from Android. He did it in China and showed what he has been working on in recent months to offer a better user experience to his consumers. The main betting vectors are security and privacy.
First, the overall design of ColorOS 12 maintains a similar appearance to the current version, at least in the way it is presented now. There is a slight influence from the new Material You design philosophy followed by Google, but not much.
Considering what was presented to us, OPPO took the main elements of Android 12 from Google and adapted them to its taste and priorities. Likewise, the involvement of the entire system has also improved, inspired by Material You.
ColorOS 12’s design follows Google’s Material You philosophy
OPPO presents ColorOS 12 as simpler. That is, it states that the entire design language has been simplified to facilitate the use and understanding of the elements presented by the user. In this way, he believes that it will be faster to find what we want at a given moment.
Inspiration from Material You is reflected not only in the design of the system icons, but also in the new widgets. To this is added the design clearer as there is more space between the icons, creating a feeling of lightness. There are also changes in the animations of the system, more sophisticated and elegant.
We will have the new 3D animated OMOJI
Coming in October with the start of the distribution of ColorOS 12 we also have OMOJI, the animated stickers. It will be another element of personalization that users will be able to use very soon.
In total, according to OPPO, we have more than 300 new animations to improve the experience of using an OPPO smartphone (or OnePlus, in China).
We also noticed a difference in the color tones, being now more discreet, softer and / or with less saturation in its elements. In short, there is an identity maintained in this ColorOS 12, but without fear of adapting to current trends.
We still have to highlight the presence of the new Smart Sidebar 2.0 with ColosOS 12. It is the new generation of sidebar present in OPPO smartphones with several icons and direct shortcuts. Now it will be more useful, with new tools at our disposal.
Connecting your OPPO smartphone to your PC will be easier with ColorOS 12
OPPO also introduced display interconnection mode to quickly connect your smartphone to your Windows PC. This mode will allow you to mirror your smartphone quickly, without delay and with access to all the files on your smartphone, on your PC.
You will need a computer with Windows 10 or higher operating system to take advantage of this new option. It is, for those who work a lot on the computer and also on the smartphone, a new “bridge” between both devices.
ColorOS12 Distribution Schedule in China
Finally, it is important to note that this distribution will be done gradually and in phases, starting with China. As a result, it may take a little longer to reach the mentioned units in Europe. Also, the list could be expanded.
ColorOS 12 is currently in development, with trial versions limited to China. However, we believe that some nations in Europe may test this software (beta) before its official release in the stable version.
Also note that OnePlus smartphones in Europe will continue to use your OxygenOS as you know it, at least for the near future.
