Shortly after Realme launched the MagDart, which is 8 times faster than the iPhone 12’s MagSafe, it was OPPO’s turn to present its own version of this magnetic wireless charging technology. The Chinese manufacturer unveiled two new chargers, one 40W and another 20W.

The 40W charger comes in the form of a cradle that looks a lot like a wireless charger. However, rather than resting your smartphone on it, theThe wireless charger will hold your smartphone with magnets so that it does not fall. According to OPPO, the charger is capable of delivering 40W of power to the OPPO Ace 2 and 30W to the OPPO Find X3, but neither of them uses a magnet system. The charger also supports the Qi standard and can send up to 15W to devices without MagVOOC.

During the event, OPPO also lifted the veil on a 20W circular MagVOOC charger, which looks more like Apple’s MagSafe magnetic wireless charger. This one is not as powerful as the 40W charger, but it is much more portable. It also supports Qi charging up to 10W.

The charger is therefore more powerful than Apple’s MagSafe charger, since the latter only delivers a power of 15 W for the iPhone 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max, and only 12 W for the iPhone 12 mini. It is expected that OPPO will soon unveil a compatible device equipped with magnets, since Realme has already launched the Realme Flash, the first Android smartphone with magnetic wireless charging.
