OPPO recently brought a new version of its A5i Pro phone to Malaysia. This new model adds 5G connectivity. It also comes with a big battery and tough build. This release follows the launch of the A5i and A5i Pro 4G phones in the Philippines in June 2025. Those earlier models used a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 chip.
The OPPO A5i Pro 5G features a 6.67-inch LCD screen. It shows clear pictures with 720 by 1,604 pixels. The screen also refreshes very fast at 120 Hz. This makes movement on screen look super smooth. It can get very bright too, up to 1,000 Nits. Tough Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the display from scratches.
Under the hood, this smartphone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip. TSMC made this chip using a 6-nanometer process. It has eight processing cores to handle tasks.
- Two powerful Cortex-A76 cores run at up to 2.4 GHz. These are for demanding apps.
- Six efficient Cortex-A55 cores run at up to 2.0 GHz. They save power during everyday use.
The phone also has 8 GB of fast LPDDR4X RAM. It comes with 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage for your files. A large 6,000 mAh battery keeps the phone going all day. It also supports quick 45W charging. The phone itself is pretty thin at 7.99 mm and weighs 194 grams.
This device boasts impressive durability features.
- It has an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance. This protects it from water jets coming from any direction.
- It meets MIL-STD-810H military standards. This means it can handle tough conditions. Think very hot or cold temperatures, humidity, sand, or vibrations.
- The battery also keeps its charge well. It stays above 80% capacity even after five years of charging cycles.
For taking pictures, the phone has a 50-megapixel main camera. There’s also a 2-megapixel sensor for black and white shots. Selfies are handled by an 8-megapixel front camera. Plus, it still includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
OPPO will start selling the A5i Pro 5G in Malaysia on September 16, 2025. You can choose between two colors: Breeze Blue or Midnight Purple. The phone costs 799 Malaysian Ringgit.
