The open water swimmer Miguel Tejada said he is ready for the 17-kilometer journey that he will take this Saturday in the bay of Samaná.
During a courtesy visit made to Antonio Acosta, president of the COD, Tejada said that he will swim about 17 kilometers, leaving at 6:30 in the morning from the coast of Sabana de la Mar and arriving at the Samaná boardwalk.
Tejada, who was accompanied by Franklin de la Cruz, president of the Dominican Triathlon Federation, expressed that he has prepared for this new challenge.
The open water swimmer is an athlete in the sport of triathlon. Before he has practiced tennis and swimming.
To carry out the crossing, Tejada will have a technical team of fifteen people which will be distributed in three boats, including doctors, trainer, logistics manager, a judge, who will have the task of safeguarding Tejada’s life throughout the journey. of the crossing.
“I go with my doctor, nutritionist and coach, who motivate me so that the feat can be completed, because everything is teamwork,” he said.
Tejada has been preparing permanently for more than a year, although he knows the risk involved in executing this type of swim.
