Open spitting of citizens was banned in the neighboring country

Ahead of the G20 summit in India, public spitting has been banned in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

According to media reports, the decision to ban spitting has been taken by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation and a fine of Rs 250 has to be paid for violating it.

The municipal corporation has launched an awareness campaign in the city from today (February 23) to March 1, according to which there will be a total ban on open spitting and defecation.

Commissioner Inderjit Singh said that the campaign aims to maintain the beautification of the city ahead of the G20 summit, which will require the help of police, NGOs and local people to implement it.
