Onguito Wa is released from prison and vows never to drive again

The Special Traffic Court of the National District ordered this Wednesday the freedom of the urban exponent Elvis Manuel Santos Alcántara, better known as wa onguito, but he will have to pay a bond of 300,000 pesos, appear periodically and respect an impediment to leave the country.

After the variation of the coercive measure that was dictated to him in December of last year, the singer appeared on his social networks, where he announced his upcoming musical performances, thanked the authorities, his lawyer, family and friends and assured that he was “reformed and different”.

“Thanks to my lawyer @jmartinezbrito. Thanks to the Public Ministry, the judge and the Dominican system, today I am reformed and different. I want to make music, work hard. I love my audience, thank you. This freedom is yours, not from today play one more guide,” he wrote in one of his Instagram stories.

In December, the Court accepted the request for two months of preventive detention made by the National District Prosecutor’s Office and Onguito was sent to the Najayo-Hombre Correction and Rehabilitation Center, located in San Cristóbal.

Onguito was identified as the driver of the Mercedes Benz SUV that hit, on October 29, 2022, the motorcycle that Avener Elma was driving, who died instantly.
