OnePlus kicked off the year by launching its new high-end smartphone in China. The OnePlus 10 Pro was one of the first to arrive with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and is expected to hit global markets in the coming months. But the Chinese manufacturer may have another ace up its sleeve.
As far as its design is concerned, the OnePlus 10 Pro can already be considered a super smartphone. But its price is well below rivals such as the iPhone 13 Pro Max or the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, and OnePlus may be preparing a direct competitor for these models.
OnePlus 10 Ultra could be on the way
According to tipster Yogesh Brad says on Twitter, there are rumors that a high-end “Ultra” from OnePlus is in the works. This source reveals that the smartphone is in the engineering verification testing phase, still in the prototype phase.
After this phase, design tests and product verification tests follow. It is from there that the brand knows that the equipment is ready to be launched on the market.
The source says that more and more is being shared between OnePlus and Oppo. Oppo’s Find X5 series will have the Hasselblad treatment, which became exclusive to OnePlus in 2021. Oppo will share the MariSillicon X, its new imaging NPU that promises higher quality photos and videos, as well as better image processing.
If these rumors are confirmed, we will hear a lot about this OnePlus 10 Ultra in 2022. Until then, we should look at this data with ‘a pinch of salt’ until we have more tangible evidence.
