OnePlus prepares to launch the first foldable smartphone

OnePlus may not have the spark it once had among fans of the brand. But the truth is that the manufacturer seems to want more and more to open up its collection to new product categories. The most recent example of this is the launch of the brand’s first tablet.

The next step will be to launch the first foldable smartphone: possibly called OnePlus Fold. The confirmation was initially made by Pete Lau, CEO of the brand, who guaranteed a launch for the second half of 2023.

OnePlus Fold arrives in the first half of August

In an exclusive on the Pricebaba website, the launch window of the product is now revealed. The source says that OnePlus Fold will launch during the first half of August with the launch event taking place in New York.

The same source says that the device could launch in China as Oppo Find N3 and as OnePlus Fold globally. It will apparently have a 6.5-inch OLED screen on the outside and an 8-inch OLED panel on the inside when open.

The terminal will be commanded by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. It is expected with a 4800 mAh battery and 80 W charging as we saw in the OnePlus 11.

In the field of photography, the OnePlus Fold should have a 50 MP main camera, a 48 MP ultra-wide angle and a 32 MPa periscopic telephoto lens. It should also be noted that it will have a 32 MP camera on the interior screen and another on the folding interior screen.
