Now there are just a few hours left for the IPL 2024 auction. The auction will take place on Tuesday, December 19th, tomorrow on Dubai soil. This will be the first auction in IPL history where female auctioneers will bid for the players. The IPL Auction 2024 will be led by auctioneer Mallika Sagar, who also recently held the role of auctioneer for the Women’s Premier League 2024. Furthermore, this will be the first auction of its kind to be held outside India.
Mallika Sagar, who bid in the recently concluded Women’s Premier League and became the first woman auctioneer in the IPL, lives in Mumbai and is an art collector. According to the report by ESPNcricinfo, while this is Mallika Sagar’s first appearance as an auctioneer in the IPL, she has previously appeared as an auctioneer in the Pro Kabaddi League. She has also worked as an auctioneer in the art world on several occasions.
We tell you that Mallika Sagar will be the third auctioneer of IPL. In the 10 years since the inception of the IPL i.e. from 2008 to 2018, Richard Madley has conducted the IPL auction. After that, i.e. after 2018, Hughes Adams remained the auctioneer of IPL. But now Mallika Sagar will be the auctioneer of IPL 2024 mini auction.
