Onana changes his situation at United

In a thrilling clash at Goodison Park, Manchester United emerged victorious over Everton, with much of the achievement thanks to the outstanding performance of goalkeeper André Onana. The Cameroonian has established himself as a key player at Old Trafford, despite his early performances being heavily criticized.

Onana, who previously represented Inter’s colours, proved his mettle at Goodison Park by putting in one of the best performances of the season. His ability to keep clean sheets was impressive, keeping clean sheets in five of 13 Premier League games. This statistical performance makes him the best goalkeeper in this category in the league.

But beyond the statistics, Manchester United’s win at Goodison Park marked an important record for the Red Devils as they kept a clean sheet in 500 games. After a start full of uncertainty, Onana appears to have filled the void left by the legendary David De Gea at Old Trafford, finally earning his place under Erik Ten Hag.

The Dutch coach knows him first hand

The Manchester United manager, in a gesture of trust towards his goalkeeper, declared: “He has shown it and he will do it. We have already seen his great skills in the games, including his personality after mistakes. He will recover and I’m sure he will in the next games too.
