Onana awakens the spirits of Old Trafford with his judgment

Manchester United made a good comeback against Lens. The ‘Red Devils’ lost 1-0 and in the second half Rashford, Antony and Casemiro scored to turn the tide with a 3-1 lead and look well into the opening week of the Premier League.

But still the atmosphere was relaxed due to a judgment that brought “ghosts” to Old Trafford: that of André Onana.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper, who came to bring order to the goal at Erik ten Hag’s explicit request, is a call to put behind the ‘failures’ that David de Gea has accumulated along with his defence. However, André saw his goal fail in the worst possible way.

The African goalkeeper tends to leave his area frequently, so much so that Florian Sotoca decided to shoot almost from midfield. Onana tried to go back, but the ball went into the goal entangled with him in the stitches.

Frustrated as he adjusted his socks, aware of the mistake, Onana was able to make up for his failure with good saves In the end, they’ve earned Old Trafford’s forgiveness, although they’ll be careful to ensure it’s not the continuity of a defensive affliction they want to put behind them.
