Omorodion stops Cádiz CF from signing Maxi Gómez

Everything was set for the Uruguayan attacker to land in Cadista’s box, but a promise from Granada signed by the mattress team is why Sergio González called it a day.

Cadiz CF was very concerned about the signing of Maxi Gomezbut the promising Samu Omorodion has crossed his path. The Granada CF star, now with Atlético de Madrid, could be the next signing Cadista Club, and all on behalf of Sergio González. That put the Uruguayan striker on the back burner.

Up until a few days ago, Omorodion was a recently promoted player in the Nasrid team, having enjoyed an impressive season at second RFEF’s Recreativo Granada. There he scored 18 goals in 35 games, prompting Paco López to seek a promotion to his squad. But when he scored the discount goal against the Matratzen team on the first day of this course, he was signed by Andrea Berta.

Omorodion Cadiz
Atlético have successfully completed the signing of Omorodion and are now preparing his loan deal to Cádiz CF.

Atlético want to do without Omorodion and Cádiz wants to be the favourite

From the start of the operation, the Madrid team knew they wouldn’t keep the striker away from Melilla. The main reason for his signing is to train future players who can join Rojiblanca’s squad when they are fully mature. But Berta knows the best way to live up to such a promise is to play in the top flight but at a different club.

It’s not the first time Atlético have loaned promising players in the same Liga 1 and this time they want to send them to Cadiz CF. The reasons are varied, but above all because they trust Sergio González’s project. Even if the yellow team fought against relegation last season, there is a glimmer of hope for the new season.

The real reason Atlético chose Cádiz as a destination for Omorodion

Furthermore, they see the Cadiz team as a more than optimal target to finish off the former Granada striker. There’s a more specific reason. This is on behalf of Sergio Camello, who was supposed to join the Cadista club with Atlético’s approval. The operation has already been approved by both clubs but the player was the one who decided not to go to Nuevo Mirandilla. Now his new team is Rayo Vallecano again.

The Madrid side have apologized to Cádiz CF and will loan them Samu Omorodion as a show of sympathy. To some extent, after all of Camello’s failed signings, this served the Cadiz side to bolster their attacking strategy. The operation between the two teams could take place in the next few hours.
