A landslide in a remote area of the Gulf state of Oman has killed five workers and left several others missing.
Arab media quoted Oman’s Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority as saying that the incident took place in the Al-Arid area of the northern governorate of Al-Zahira. Rescue and relief teams were engaged in rescue operations at the scene.
According to rescue officials, five people have been rescued while the search for the missing is still going on.
It should be noted that Al-Zahir is located west of the capital Muscat. This sparsely populated area borders the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
