The Olympiakos team celebrated another milestone this weekend, capping off an impressive season with a convincing 2-0 win over OFI Crete in the Greek Cup final. This victory marks the team’s second major trophy this season, following closely on the heels of their league championship win a month ago.
Goals from El Kaabi in the ninth minute and Roman Yaremchuck in stoppage time sealed the win. Yaremchuck, a former Benfica player, came off the bench to score the decisive goal in the 90th+3 minute, securing the trophy for Olympiakos. OFI Crete, who had not won in nine consecutive league games, struggled to mount a challenge against the league champions.
The Olympiakos lineup featured Costinha, Chiquinho, and Gelson Martins as starters. David Carmo remained on the bench, while André Horta was sidelined due to injury.
Team’s Reaction
The team’s jubilation was palpable as they lifted the trophy, with their fans sharing the excitement on social media.
