Pramac Yamaha aims to deliver a “result to remember forever” for Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira at his home MotoGP Grand Prix this weekend, a highly emotional event as he prepares to transition to the World Superbike Championship.
Oliveira, 30, described the Grand Prix as “very emotional,” acknowledging the Portimão circuit’s special significance for him. He stated that racing at home provides “extra motivation” for a strong performance.
The rider indicated this could be his “last MotoGP race in front of my fans,” which makes the weekend particularly special. He expressed a desire to “do things well, enjoy, and ensure the team and my fans enjoy it too.”
Gino Borsoi, Pramac’s Team Director, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the importance of the weekend for Oliveira. “It is a circuit where he has already won,” Borsoi said, expressing confidence in a strong performance.
Borsoi added, “I would like to give him a result for him to remember forever.” This goal comes as Oliveira prepares to leave Pramac Yamaha for the WorldSBK championship.
Oliveira achieved an unforgettable victory at the Portuguese Grand Prix in 2020. However, current team results suggest that securing another win might prove challenging.
The Grand Prix begins with practice sessions on Friday and culminates with the main race on Sunday, scheduled to start at 1 p.m. local time.
