OFFICIAL: Tuchel will no longer play at FC Bayern next season

The crisis at FC Bayern Munich has reached a critical point with the impending dismissal of coach Thomas Tuchel. The news, reported by Sky Deutschland and later confirmed by the club itself, has shaken the foundations of the Bavarian team, which has sunk into a series of unfavorable results and threatens to leave the European giants without a title for the first time in twelve years.

The decision to forego Tuchel came after their third consecutive defeat against Bochum, which left Bayern eight points behind the league leaders. Furthermore, SaarbrĂĽcken’s exit from the cup and the Champions League deficit against Lazio led to this measure, just a year after Tuchel’s arrival as Julian Nagelsmann’s successor.

Despite the crisis, the Bayern board decides to keep Tuchel until the end of the season, a decision that could impact the team’s performance as they are already aware of his impending departure. Xabi Alonso is rumored to be the favorite to take over the team, although Bayern will have to compete with interest from Liverpool following the departure of Jurgen Klopp.

Relationship broken after a year at the club

The cooperation between Tuchel and Bayern will end at the end of the season, as both parties confirmed in a joint statement. Tuchel, who took office in March 2023, is committed to continuing to work with his technical team in search of success until the last day of his term. For its part, the board is calling on the team to give their best in the Champions League and the Bundesliga in the hope of reaching the quarter-finals against Lazio.
