Dokou, a dynamic 21-year-old midfielder, comes with a solid reputation. He’s seen as one of Benin’s brightest football talents. He already boasts 19 international appearances for his home country. In 2023, he even played in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, showing his promise on a bigger stage. His club career has been entirely with Smouha, an Egyptian team. Over four seasons, Dokou has played 80 games for them. During that time, he also managed to score one goal and provide one assist.

Now, Dokou has arrived in Matosinhos and is ready for his new challenge. Fans are eager to see him debut under coach João Nuno Fonseca. The team is heading out to face Feirense this coming Saturday. Kick-off for that match is set for 3:30 PM. Leixões has been on a roll, securing two wins and one draw in their early league games. It’s been a really positive start for the Matosinhos side.
