Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said on its official website that Pakistan has repeatedly emphasized that sport should not be mixed with politics. Hence, it has decided to send its cricket team to India to compete in the upcoming 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. The website of the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said that Pakistan is deeply concerned for the safety of its cricket team. We raise these concerns with the ICC and the Indian authorities. It is our understanding that the Pakistani cricket team will be in full safety during their trip to India.
India has the upper hand
The Pakistani team last came to India to compete in the 2016 T20 World Cup when India beat Pakistan by 6 wickets. Now, after 9 years, the Pakistan team will come to India again to play a cricket match. India and Pakistan have met seven times at the ODI World Cup, with the Indian team winning each time.
