Obradoiro’s success and rebounds destroy Burgos

The great performance of Thomas Scrubb (21 points, PIR of 23) and Henry Ellenson (23 and 18) allowed Monbus Obradoiro to add an important victory against Hereda San Pablo Burgos, which they destroyed with their strength in the offensive rebound, despite that McGee and Gamble kept the visiting team alive until the last minutes (101-94).

The 0-5 start was a mirage because Burgos was never comfortable, unable to stop the interiors of the Obradoiro. Between Vini Okouo and Henry Ellenson they raised an Obradoiro who forgot the absence of Birutis.

The mistake from the three-point line and the numerous losses punished Salva Maldonado’s team, desperate because his rival dominated the rebound (he finished with 42, half of them in attack). Obradoiro turned the score around before the end of the first quarter after a partial 8-0 (22-17), although each of his mistakes oxygenated a rival who exploited his counterattack game.

Equality was maximum, but problems increased for Obradoiro after Viny Okouo hit his teammate Álvaro Muñoz in the face, who had to retire to the locker room. Burgos hit a stretch after a 2-10 that forced Moncho Fernández to request a time-out (33-37). And his team found in Hobbs the solution to their jam.

The American dominated the game, with an exhibition in the direction and a lot of success in the completion. Obradoiro leaned on him to regain command of the duel, although Renfroe and Gamble prevented the crash from breaking (44-43, rest).

An unsportsmanlike act to Hobbs and a subsequent technical foul against his coach, for protesting, punished Obradoiro at the start of the third quarter, with Brazilian Vitor Benite unleashed in attack. Moncho Fernández called a time-out, and his team reacted from the three-point line.
