NVIDIA is set to launch its new GeForce RTX 5060 GPU on May 19, according to reports from VideoCardz. The card is the successor to the RTX 4060 and is priced at $299.
A Controversial Launch Strategy
Unlike previous launches, NVIDIA is adopting a strategy where sales and reviews will be released simultaneously. This means consumers won’t have access to independent reviews before the card hits stores. To get the card at the suggested price, buyers will have to rely on NVIDIA’s official benchmarks or risk missing out on stock.

RTX 5060 Specifications
The RTX 5060 is based on the GB206 GPU and features:
- 3,840 CUDA cores, a 25% increase from the previous generation
- 8GB of GDDR6 memory
- 128-bit bus
The card delivers a 65% higher bandwidth thanks to improvements in memory speed and the PCIe 5.0 interface. This is a modest update for those seeking basic performance in current games, with technical gains that may make a difference at 1080p resolutions. The increase in efficiency and bandwidth per dollar is the main upgrade of the new GPU.
The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is also expected to launch around the same time. This will likely heat up the budget GPU market before the Computex event in May. With a couple of new options, users will be able to compare and upgrade their systems with the best budget choices.
