The coaching merry-go-round seems to be spinning fast at Nottingham Forest. Word coming out of England suggests the club has already picked a new coach. This news dropped after a morning of international reports hinted that current boss Nuno Espírito Santo might be shown the door. Later on Friday, Nuno himself spoke at a press conference. He openly admitted that his relationship with the club owner, a Greek businessman named Evangelos Marinakis, had turned sour.
According to ‘The Sun’, Forest’s top pick for the hot seat is Ange Postecoglou. He’s an Australian with Greek citizenship, making him a compatriot of Marinakis. That connection could be a big factor here. Postecoglou has been without a team since leaving Tottenham in June. He’s now free to jump into another Premier League adventure if Forest comes calling.
Interestingly, the same newspaper also mentioned José Mourinho as another possible candidate. Mourinho is currently managing Fenerbahçe. He’s actually getting ready to face Benfica very soon. That match will be the second leg of their Champions League playoff, with a spot in the group stage on the line. The first game ended in a scoreless draw.
