Nuno Borges Confident Ahead of French Open Debut

Nuno Borges is feeling confident ahead of Roland Garros.
He’s had a solid clay season, winning several matches.
The Portuguese number one said: “I’ve been doing well on clay. I haven’t had any amazing results, but I’ve won a lot of matches. That gives me some confidence.”

Borges has played in the main draw at Roland Garros three times before.
This year, he wants to use those experiences to improve.
He said: “I try to optimize my time in Paris every year. I want to learn from my past mistakes and do better. I’m feeling good physically, which is important for consistency.”

Borges plays French qualifier Kyrian Jacquet on Sunday.
Jacquet is ranked 151st in the world and has only played one ATP main draw match.
Borges said: “I played him a long time ago, but I don’t remember much. I know who he is, but not how he plays. I’ll try to figure it out, but it won’t change my plan. I’ll stick to my aggressive game.”

Other Portuguese Players in Action

Jaime Faria, ranked 115th, plays American Jenson Brooksby on Sunday.
Brooksby won the ATP 250 in Houston and was once ranked 33rd in the world.

Henrique Rocha, ranked 201st, faces Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili, who has five ATP titles.

These matches will be interesting to watch.
The players are all looking to make a good impression at Roland Garros.
We’ll see how they do on Sunday.
