Suryakumar Yadav. India’s best T20 batsman of recent times. Currently very few players are at Surya’s level in this format. But in ODI and Test Cricket, nothing special has been seen of Surya so far. Although Suryakumar has expressed his desire to play Test on several occasions. Meanwhile, India’s T20 captain Hardik Pandya also spoke about including Surya in the Test squad. He believes that just like T20, Surya can work wonders in other formats as well.

Will Surya’s charm be seen in the test as well?

Indian T20 team captain Hardik Pandya on Monday supported the inclusion of Suryakumar Yadav, who was a prolific batsman in limited overs last year, in the Test squad here. Ahead of the opening match of the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka, Hardik endorsed the vice-captain of the game’s shortest format, saying Suryakumar can be an important member of the team across all three formats of the game. Suryakumar recently expressed his intention to play Test cricket and said that he always dreamed of playing red ball cricket for the country. He is one of the few current Indian players to have played in a Ranji Trophy match this season.

Surya did wonders on Ranji

The Mumbai batsman hit an entertaining 90 from 80 balls last month at the Ranji Trophy after a gap of almost three years. Hardik said Suryakumar has the ability to turn the tide of the game and is the ‘most important player’ for the team’s leadership. Hardik said: “I have said of Surya in the past that he started playing international cricket late. He always wanted him to be a part of the Indian team in 2020. But sadly this was not possible. “He has achieved things now that he could do in the past. I can only wish him the best for this and I hope he will continue to drive for the Indian team and go further in life and score more runs.” Surya has been wonderful to me and my team.

Hardik indicated that he would be very confident in his successor in the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka: “He is very important for all formats and I have no doubts about his success in Tests,” he said. He has the ability to change the trend of the game at any time. I’m sure the selectors and the captain are keeping an eye on him.
