A new documentary series is set to offer an unprecedented look into a 2001 drug trafficking event off the Portuguese coast, featuring an exclusive testimony from the Italian trafficker who piloted the grounded vessel.
The five-episode series, titled “Rabo de Peixe, a verdadeira história” (Rabo de Peixe, the true story), will air on the NOW channel throughout November. It promises to reveal new details and never-before-seen footage on Portuguese television.
Central to the series is the account of Antonino Quinci, identified as the Italian trafficker. Quinci reportedly drove the boat that ran aground near the Portuguese coast in 2001.
The incident led to the discovery of 700 kilograms (approximately 1,543 pounds) of cocaine aboard the vessel.
Authored by Ruben Pacheco Correia, the documentary will be broadcast from Monday to Friday during prime time. The first episode is scheduled to debut this Monday at 11:30 PM local time.
