Nottingham Forest appointed Sean Dyche as its new head coach Tuesday, just two days before the club faces FC Porto in a critical Europa League match and amidst Premier League relegation concerns.
Dyche’s immediate task is to revitalize a team currently in 18th place in the Premier League, sitting in the relegation zone. His debut will be Thursday when Forest hosts Porto at City Ground.
His arrival follows the recent dismissal of Ange Postecoglou. Club owner Evangelos Marinakis had hoped for better results under Postecoglou, who took over after Marinakis also dismissed Nuno EspÃrito Santo last month.
Dyche, a former Forest youth player, joins the club nine months after his departure from Everton. He has signed a contract that runs until the summer of 2027.
