Nottingham Forest Appoints Ange Postecoglou Head Coach

A fresh face is taking the reins at Nottingham Forest. The club announced today that Ange Postecoglou, the respected 60-year-old Australian manager, will now lead the team. He steps into the shoes left vacant by Nuno Espírito Santo, who departed just yesterday. Postecoglou has been out of the dugout since leaving Tottenham back in June of this year, but he’s never been one to sit idle for long.

Ange Postecoglou leaves Tottenham, following a board decision.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis didn’t hold back his excitement about the new appointment. The Greek magnate, in a statement released on Tuesday, called Postecoglou a “fantastic person” to help the club. Marinakis highlighted the coach’s impressive resume, praising his “proven and consistent track record in terms of achievements.” He emphasized Postecoglou’s high-level coaching experience, combined with a clear desire to build “something special” right there at Forest.

Marinakis laid out the club’s lofty goals. He explained that after securing promotion to the Premier League, and then consistently earning a spot in European competitions season after season, it’s time for the next big leap. The owner wants Forest to “compete with the best” and “fight for trophies.” He made it clear Postecoglou fits this ambition perfectly, noting his “credentials and track record” for the job. “We are excited for him to join us on our ambitious journey,” Marinakis added, signaling a new era on the Trent.
