Nada was founded by one of the biggest symbols of OnePlus’ early days: Carl Pei. The executive brought several people who worked with him at OnePlus. And one of the most recent acquisitions is kyle kiang.
For those unfamiliar with the name, Kyle Kiang spent over 6 years at oneplus. The executive was the global marketing leader for most of his time, later moving up to general manager for North America and then chief marketing officer.
According to his Linkedin, Kyle Kiang left OnePlus in 2021. On the social network Twitter, Carl Pei announced Monday that the executive has joined the Nothing team as vice president in North America.
Nothing Phone (2) will be presented during the summer
This publication also served for Carl Pei to reveal that Kyle Kiang will lead the presentation of Phone (2). Remember that the smartphone will be presented during the summer, but there is still no official date for the event.
It is recalled that a recent news item on the Inverse website reveals that Nada has massively hired former OnePlus employees. This source says that 70% of Nothing’s software team and 30% of its current hardware team once belonged to OnePlus.
The Nothing Phone (1) was a smartphone aimed at the upper-middle range. But with the launch of the Phone (2), Nothing wants to enter the high-end segment. The terminal will arrive with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. It is not the latest, but it is still powerful. Success will surely depend on the price of the device.
