NOS continues with its next generation network expansion plan. And the most recent step is to strengthen coverage in one of the largest municipalities in the country: sintra. In a statement, the operator reveals all the details.
“This is an important step, which reinforces the commitment of NOS to provide the entire country with advanced technological infrastructures, ensuring access for all Portuguese, individuals and companies, to the best and most innovative communications services,” it reads.
Fiber optic NOS reaches 4,000 homes and businesses in Sintra
According to the figures released, starting today, NOS will reach out with its fiber network “to more than 4,000 homes and businesses in this municipality.” It is important to mention that the figure has strengthened throughout the year, and the operator intends to reach “more than twenty thousand homes and businesses” in Sintra by the end of 2021.
This reinforcement of the NOS fiber network in that geographical area comes at a particularly relevant time. This is because many are still telecommuting, a new school year has begun, and better conditions need to be provided for essential services.
“The inhabitants of Sintra will have access to a smart television service through UMA TV or Apple TV, which will offer a more personalized and intuitive experience, with 4K image quality,” explains the operator.
In addition, it is worth highlighting “a complete offer of fixed internet services, through innovative equipment such as the Giga Router, which offers internet speeds of up to 1Gbps and Wi-Fi 20 times faster; or even the new Power Wi-Fi, which allows better Internet coverage throughout the house ”.
NOS affirms its commitment to “reach more and more Portuguese.” According to official figures, NOS aims to surpass the 4.8 million homes and businesses reached in 2020 by the end of this year.
