Reuters reported that official North Korean media and government websites were unavailable. South Korean cyber terrorism response team officials, who track North Korea’s online activities, couldn’t comment on it yet.
Junade Ali, a UK researcher who monitors North Korea’s internet, said the whole system was down. This was according to tools that track online activity. It was a big outage that affected all connections, whether through China or Russia.
However, Ali said it wasn’t clear if it was intentional or an accident. It seemed more like an internal problem than a cyber attack from outside.
This happened when tensions on the Korean peninsula were escalating. South Korea and the US were doing military drills, and North Korea was being more aggressive. So, many people were watching Pyongyang’s tech moves closely.
